Amelia and Dakota's wedding day at The Hartwood was the kind of day wedding photographers dream about: beautiful details, meaningful moments, an effortless timeline, and a couple fully present for every second of it.
From the very beginning of the day, everything felt intentional, relaxed, and joy-filled. Surrounded by all of their favorite people, Amelia and Dakota focused on what mattered most: getting married and celebrating with the people they love most.
Their design vision was absolutely stunning, with elevated blue details paired with timeless blue chinoiserie accents that made every corner of the day feel elegant, refined, and thoughtfully curated. It was classic, sophisticated, and effortlessly beautiful.
A huge part of the day running so seamlessly was thanks to the incredible team at Alyson Jean Events. Their planning and coordination made this one of the smoothest wedding days I’ve ever photographed. Every detail was handled so intentionally, allowing Amelia and Dakota to remain completely present and simply enjoy the day they had spent so long planning.
And speaking of making the day stress-free, Amelia’s mom, Amber, played such a huge role behind the scenes helping bring everything together. Because of her hard work, Amelia was able to truly soak in every moment of the day without worrying about the logistics. It was such a gift to witness.
One of my favorite things about Amelia and Dakota is how grounded and genuine they are. They are exactly my kind of couple. The kind who care more about the marriage than the production. The kind who simply want to get married, celebrate well, and spend intentional time with the people they love.
Of course, the day also included some unforgettable personal touches. Amelia’s dad owns Bright Leaf Hot Dogs, so naturally, the family business made multiple appearances throughout the evening. My favorite appearance was during bridal party portraits, the bridesmaids gathered together and enjoyed hot dogs in a celebratory toast-style moment that was equal parts elegant and hilarious and perfectly fitting for this crew.
As if the day wasn’t already memorable enough, a vintage Model T made a guest appearance during sunset portraits, and Dakota looked like he had been born to drive it. It added such a timeless, classic touch to the day and made for some of the coolest portraits.
From the peaceful, easygoing morning to the packed dance floor after dinner, Amelia and Dakota’s wedding was truly a dream from beginning to end.
It was beautiful.
It was joyful.
It was meaningful.
And most importantly, it was unmistakably them.
Amelia and Dakota, thank you for trusting me to document such an incredible day. Your wedding was a perfect reflection of who you are, and it was an honor to capture it.
