Hey there,
I'm Emily.
Christian, Wife, mama, Photographer.

I'm a follower of Jesus and a lover of Sweet Tea. I am married to the sweetest man on earth & his support is one of the main reasons I can pursue photography.
Here's a few things you might not know about me:
- I am a mama to Kip & Maisie.
- I am an extrovert, but I love being at home.
- I can watch Toy Story and The Office on repeat.
- 90s Country is my favorite.
- Family is one of my most important values.
- I met my husband on a dating app during the pandemic.

Oh, you make me smile ;)

I love a lot of things - honestly, I just love life - But Below are some of the things that just make me smile!
My Family

Ronnie, Kip, and Maisie are my biggest loves. They are my main inspiration and motivation to keep dreaming big and pursue my passions.
Snacks

Give me a charcuterie board, a Lunchable, or a veggie tray and I can eat it for daysss. I love super bowl parties and baby showers simply for the snacks!
The Fair

It doesn't matter if it is the local county fair or the NC state fair - we'll be there! My experience has changed though now that I am GF and get motion sick on rides. None the less, every year, I'll be there.
The Beach
There is just something about the beach that feels like home. My dream is to one day have a beach house but for now, I'll enjoy short trips!
Sweet Tea
I know, I know. Thats a coffee mug in my picture but I don't really drink coffee much but it's such a cute mug! Sweet Tea is my drink of choice with pellet ice and a bendy straw, of course!
The Creation of EPP

How Did EPP get Started?
In the spring of 2021, I was lucky enough to take my cousin's family pictures with my grandma and granddad about a month before he went to be with Jesus. That session was the match that lit the fire in my desire to be a photographer.
A little less than a year later, in March of 2022, I launched Emily Person Photography. Since then, I have found a love for wedding, family, and newborn photography!
What have I been doing since the launch of EPP?
I have prioritized continuing education courses and shooting a wide variety of sessions. I am indebted to photographers like Katelyn James, Erin Thompson, and Payton Herring who have helped build my style, understanding of photography, and overall business.
Who are key people in the journey of EPP?
My sisters have also played huge rolls in my business. Hope, my younger sister is my constant side kick, errand runner, and idea suggester. Sarah has spent countless hours on the phone, helping with website edits, and constructive criticism to help me become a better photographer.
Claire Stanley, my trusty second photographer, works most weddings with me and has become the best addition to EPP on wedding days!
Of course, my parents and mother-in-law are crucial as they are my childcare when Ronnie is unavailable. Their support has also been tremendous throughout the whole process, as well as so many other family and friends.
Last, but not least, my husband has cheered me on every step of the way. He encouraged me to make the investment in education as well as equipment. He has supported me in all of my crazy ideas, has helped proofread a lot of content, and picked up the slack when there are late nights of working or editing.
Being a photographer takes a village and I am so thankful to have a village of people helping me become the best I can be.
