This past Saturday I headed to Battle Park for a Milestone session. I met up with the Unrue family on a beautiful fall day, ready to capture Evelyn’s eighteen month old portraits! The Unrues and I have known each other for a while because I used to babysit Henry when I was in high school. Seeing the boys all grown up and loving on their little sister to make her laugh certainly made for adorable pictures.

This session was so important to the Unrues. Not only did Aaron and Megan want to capture Evelyn’s sweet half-birthday grin, but they had not taken the time to have family photos made since John Hunter was a baby. Since becoming a mom myself, I know that one of the most bittersweet aspects of parenthood is the incredible speed at which children grow. The tiny hands that once could only grab your finger grow and grow until they learn how to reach out and explore the world around them.

Milestone sessions capture these fleeting moments, freezing them in time. Milestone sessions are special because they not only illustrate the rapid growth and transformation that your child experiences physically in the first years of their life, but also capture your child’s blooming personality and the way they interact with the world. These sessions are more than just pictures; they're a way to celebrate the joy of childhood. Childhood is a fleeting chapter, and capturing each stage is a gift to our current and future selves, urging us to savor every precious moment and hold onto those memories long after they've grown.

Family milestone sessions like this one are a testament to the beauty of family, love, and the passage of time. They serve as a reminder that every moment is worth capturing, celebrating, and preserving. If you want to capture the joy and love in your own life, don't hesitate to get in touch today!
